Karl Foster is a creative practitioner who has worked extensively in schools, galleries and Higher Education. Karl is particularly interested in developing creative practices where ideas and thinking are given equal emphasis alongside making-skills. The educational projects he has developed are usually collaborative in nature and explore the process of creating visual work as much as the visual product. Projects have included interactive commissions for the gallery education programme at The South Bank Centre, The British Library, Children’s Services -Norfolk County Council, Sheffield Museums and Galleries and a Visual Literacy/ Creativity research project funded Norwich School of Art and Design. Karl has recently completed a research paper for Norwich Primary Care Trust about Arts and Health and is beginning a large arts project with the Travelling Community. Karl is also co-director (with his wife Kimberley Foster) of Hedsor Creative Learning Limited, a company set up to produce a range of processes and products to promote Creative Learning.
