A recent Re-Imagine project for Donarbon Waste Management and Cambridgeshire County Council worked in schools with 150 children and at the site’s open day attended by over 2,000 people.

A short film from the 2011 Recycling Day can be viewed here. The Re-Imagine project resulted in display banners being produced to tell the story of the project to date together with training for waste educators in the county.

Children and young people are the recyclers of the future, and we are always looking for new and innovative ways of encouraging them to do their bit for the environment. This project is certainly innovative and we believe it will make a real difference.

Julia Barrett, Director of Environment and Regulation, Cambridgeshire County Council

I have worked In the recycling business for over 20 years in various roles, and this is the first time I have been involved with a project like this. It Is a really creative and hands on way to give children and adults an insight to the benefits of reuse and recycling, that will be highly memorable, and which children In particular will take home with them.

Mark Shelton, Waste Promotions Manager, Donarbon
