Wild Connections Workshops

  • experiential workshops for educators and practitioners
  • taking place both outside in the local woods and inside in a classroom
  • building connections between wild exploration and learning

Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination and The Kite TSA Cambridge (based at Spinney Primary School) regularly host reflective sessions for educators seeking to establish outdoor learning projects in their local wild spaces. Our programme for 2014/15 is now finished. Please contact us for dates in 2015/16.

Each session offesr rich ideas and experiences in the form of direct explorations outside in the Spinney Primary School’s own small woodland and inside with creative materials and provocations.

I’ve absolutely loved (the project) and feel very privileged to have had this opportunity with my class. I was quite apprehensive really as I hadn’t engaged with anything like this before. My worry at the beginning was how to make it work, not putting people at risk, that the children would enjoy it and how the day would go…. What surprised me? Just that every child was engaged, absolutely every child. And their resilience. They get so much out of it. It is such a rich experience. It’s very hard to say one reason – that’s impossible, there are hundreds of things that have come out of it.
